The College Area Community Council (CACC) is an organization that works to improve the quality of life and enhance community pride for the College Area.
The CACC membership consists of homeowners, property owners, business owners, and renters in the College Area. Our twenty-member Executive Board is elected from the community to also serve as the College Area Community Planning Board (CACPB).
The CACPB is chartered by the City of San Diego to review and make recommendations on planning, zoning, and other city issues affecting the College Area. More information is available at the College Area Community Profile at the City of San Diego Planning Department's website.
The College Area boundaries are Interstate 8 on the north, El Cajon Blvd. on the south, the border with the City of La Mesa on the east, and Collwood Blvd. and Fairmont Avenue on the west.
The purpose of the College Area Community Council is to promote the public good and welfare of the College Area community by disseminating information and providing a forum for discussion on issues of interest to the community; initiating, organizing or providing support for activities that benefit the community; facilitating communication between the City of San Diego or other agencies and the community; and supporting the work of the College Area Community Planning Board.
The College Area Community Planning Board is a community planning group recognized by the San Diego City Council. The purpose of the CACPB is to make recommendations to the City Council, Planning Commission, City staff, and other governmental agencies on land use matters within the College Area boundaries.
