The focus of the committee is bringing together the CACC, SDSU students, and the business community to beautify specific properties in the neighborhood.  Meets monthly.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND MEMBERSHIP

The Community Outreach Committee works to expand the membership base of the CACC, and to inform the College Area community of issues or events which might be of interest to residents and/or businesses. This committee is responsible for the CACC's monthly newsletters, brochures, and the CACC website.

LONG RANGE PLAN COMMITTEE

The Long Rand Planning and Beautification Committee deals with projects intended to beautify the College Area, such as parks and public landscaping. The Committee has recently been instrumental in securing City funding for a joint use park at Harriet Tubman School in the Saranac-Mohawk area.

NEIGHBORHOOD ENFORCEMENT ASSISTANCE COMMITTEE

The committee's focus is on sustaining neighborhood standards.  It works with the City of San Diego Code Enforcement Division, San Diego Police Department and SDSU to address concerns related to municipal code violations and nuisance behaviors such as noise, litter, maintenance or overcrowding in residential neighborhoods. 

NEAC also works to inform College Area owners and residents about municipal codes and how to respond to violations.

 

CACC Neighborhood Enforcement Assistance Committee (NEAC) has no association with the Code Enforcement Volunteers (CEV), run and supervised by the City Code Enforcement Division.   For information regarding that program contact William Dauphin, Head of Code Enforcement Community Volunteer Program, San Diego Code Enforcement Division at wdauphin@sandiego.gov

PROJECT REVIEW

The Project Review Committee reviews and makes recommendations on proposed development projects in the College Area. Projects can range from modification of a single residence to development of an apartment complex or commercial center. Project recommendations are forwarded to the full CACPB for recommendation, and then to the City of San Diego Development Services Department, Planning Commission and/or City Council, when appropriate.

DOLLAR/TICKET FUND AD HOC COMMITTEE

Dollar per Ticket Fund Ad Hoc Committee insures the financial health of the CACC, and makes recommendations for use of the Dollar per Ticket fund, a fund which was created to mitigate the traffic impacts of events held at SDSU's Viejas (formerly Cox) Arena. A dollar from the sale of each ticket for events at the Arena goes into this fund. Any funds not expended by 2017 will remain in the account until spent. Funds will cease accruing in 2017, per the agreement.
